The fight against cancer encompasses much more than the body's fight against a disease.

It's likely that you may confront a myriad of other emotional, social and financial issues.

Relationships with members of your family can be affected. Basic day-to-day transportation and housing issues can arise. Having a solid support system to help the patient deal with all of these other issues is just as important as having excellent medical care to fight cancer itself.

The Patient Care Coordinator at Clinic Cancer Care is a trained counselor who is available to help patients and their families manage these stresses.

Common stressors that patients and their families encounter include:

  • Advanced directives
  • Current or anticipated treatment problems
  • Emotional distress
  • Financial difficulties
  • Housing, lodging and transportation
  • Inadequate support system
  • Insurance issues
  • Parenting concerns
  • Relationship issues
  • Terminal illness
